all she wants is what everybody wants
to be the most important thing
in somebody else’s life
so she tries but it’s hard to open up
when everybody is on guard

sometimes she cries all night
and that’s so sad ‘cause all she wants
to do is give her love to someone
who is lonely just like herself

and so she keeps on, she keeps on running
running on empty and running out of time

 

she says “all I want is someone who will listen
as I’m trying to explain
the things that I don’t understand
there must must be someone who is missing
the things that I am missing
and who’d care to share a dream
 

she knows there can be freedom in a promise
and there can be ties in being alone
that’s why she’s still ready

 to merge her dreams with the unknown

and still she keeps on, she keeps on running
running on empty and running out of time
